We’re delighted to have scooped another two awards to our extensive list of awards.
We bagged gold and bronze awards for packaged beers at the SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) East Independent Beer Awards 2018.
Nelson’s Revenge won gold in the Bottle/Can British Premium Beer (4.5%-6.4%) category. The 4.6% ABV brew is described as ‘a wholehearted harmony of hops, fruits and barley’.
Winning its first award, bronze in the Bottle/Can Session IPA (up to 4.3%) category went to 4.3% ABV Norada, described as ‘a golden, tropical-scented, hop-filled beer bursting with character’.
There were 270 entries in 25 categories covering cask and packaged beers from brewers from across the region, which is one of eight SIBA regions covering England, Scotland and Wales.
The brews were judged by fellow brewers, brewing industry suppliers, journalists, Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) members, and local beer enthusiasts.
We received our gold and bronze awards at a ceremony hosted by SIBA at Elgood’s Brewery, in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
James Armitage, our commercial and marketing director, said: “We’re delighted to add two more awards to our growing list of accolades, and it’s always pleasing to have our brews acknowledged as among the very best by people who really know their beers.”
Judi-mae Alderton, Head of Marketing , attended the awards and said: “We had a brilliant time at the awards. The SIBA Beer Awards represent the greatest beers from the UK’s strongest independent brewers, so we are always pleased to be considered amongst the best in the UK. We are especially pleased with Norada’s first award! It’s a great industry to be a part of and we look forward to supporting SIBA in the future by helping to judge at other regional awards.”
Established in 1980, SIBA is ‘the voice of British independent brewing’, and represents the interests of around 830 independent craft breweries.
