Woodforde’s Brewery named new Norwich City Football Club stand sponsor

Here at Woodforde’s, we’re very proud to announce a long-term stand sponsorship with Norwich City Football Club!

The new partnership will see Norfolk-born legend Lord Nelson adorning the Barclay Stand at the club’s Carrow Road stadium and various other exciting embellishments to the inside of the lounges and concourses.

From July 30, The Barclay stand will continue to retain its historic name but will be referred to as ‘The Barclay Stand, sponsored by Woodforde’s’. Our distinctive branding on the stand will stay true and reflect Norwich City’s bright yellow and green strip, which earned them the nickname The Canaries.

As well as our proud Nelson logo featuring inside and outside of the stand, our award-winning Wherry amber ale, and Norada pale ale will be available to home and away supporters throughout all the ground’s lounges and kiosks.

James Hughes, our Chief Executive Officer, said of the partnership: “As Norfolk’s largest brewer, we’re delighted and proud to have built this exciting new partnership with Norwich City FC.”

“We all know that Norwich supporters are among the most passionate in the English Football League so it’s great to be able to play our part by giving something back to the fans who create such a brilliant atmosphere at Carrow Road.”

“I’m sure those supporters will be proud to see that the Woodforde’s branding around the stand reflects the Canaries famous yellow and green colours, whilst the signage ‘Woodforde’s Brewery – Born in Norfolk’ couldn’t be more appropriate.

“As well as our prominent branding at the stadium we’re also excited that two of our most popular beers – award-winning Wherry, and Norada pale ale – will be available for fans to enjoy throughout the ground,” added Hughes.

As a sneak peak, an example of some of the Woodforde’s branding planned for inside the stand will feature the slogans ‘Come on you Yellows!’, and ‘On the ball, City!’

The Canaries play their first home game of the 2018/19 season at the 27,244-capacity Carrow Road on Saturday 11 August, against newly-relegated West Bromwich Albion.

The club’s director of commercial Ben Kensell commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to have secured such a famous local company as the new sponsor of The Barclay Stand as it’s always tremendously exciting when we’re able to partner with one of our own Norfolk businesses.

“I’m confident that the fans both in the Barclay Stand and throughout Carrow Road will be excited to hear Woodforde’s plans for the stand and the season ahead.”
